My name is Caitlin Collier and I am running for one of the two open South Dakota District 17 House of Representatives seats. During 2018 through 2020, I watched the state Legislature get hijacked by bills that focused on enacting discrimination against vulnerable people in our state, while other bills that increased economic inequality or endangered our natural resources slipped through with little attention. After three years, I had enough. It was time to run.

This will be a strange campaign. Unless something major, like a vaccine, appears, there will be no traditional door-to-door interaction with voters, no group events, and perhaps no parades (definitely no candy-throwing). But I will be finding different ways to tell voters about my values and the policies and laws I believe South Dakota needs to adopt.
